Hello everyone!
Nice to meet you, my name is Miyako.H.
Thank you very much for visiting my profile page, and for reading my profile.
I am rejoiced to have you here!
First of all, let me introduce myself.
I live in Madrid, the capital of Spain. I will be offering you Spanish lessons in Japanese and Spanish from Madrid.
I look forward to working with you.
<Educational Background>
● 1991 Set foot in Spain for the first time. Completed a 2 years study program of Spanish culture and language at a local university in Spain.
*I was new to learning Spanish and had the impression that it would be very difficult, but I studied hard during my spring, summer, and winter vacations to make up for it, and from that experience I realized how difficult Spanish grammar is -> But you can learn it if you try! I realized that if you worked hard enough, you will be able to acquire the skills!
● Before moving to Spain, I lived in the USA for about 10 years from junior high school until I graduated from university.
I had no self-confidence at all, and was very shy and passive.
I had a really hard time learning languages because I could not practice pronunciation and speaking very well.
*I felt that I was not very good at learning languages when I was a student, but in fact, I just assumed so!
**I would love to share my “how to’s and tips” on how I mastered languages with you!
● After studying at a university in Spain, I went to Switzerland for a year to study at a finishing school (a school for manners, cooking, etc.).
At the time, French was a compulsory language at the school, and I lived in a dormitory. I learned a lot of strict rules and regulations, various situations and environments, and many wonderful things from my studies.
*What is it like to study in another country?
*What are the possible advantages and disadvantages?
*There is no doubt that it is good to visit another country, but it is important to deeply consider what you are going there for.
● I spent a lot of time living in dormitories in other countries when I was a student, but I also have experience living in Spain where I stayed with a painter and rented a nice apartment right beside the beach!
* The process of renting an apartment and preparation
* Living like a local
* Way of life, food, clothing and housing
<Present>
I live in the capital city of Spain, Madrid, with my Spanish husband and an old female dog.
I have two sons, and my husband has a son and a daughter, making a total of four grown children.
Each child speaks another language other than Spanish and lives in a different country or city.
My environment and daily life is very international and I am surrounded by people of various nationalities and their cultures, including my children, friends, neighbors, as well as my colleagues at work.
Regarding my career, after working as a marketer and interpreter/translator for a Japan-Spanish commercial conference, I have been working as a bridge between Spain and Japan for a local Spanish company president in Madrid.
I have worked in a wide range of fields, including commercial and industrial, event management, accompanying interpreters, translators, museum guides, book and magazine publishers, food gastronomy inspections, dock shows, medical services, Spanish state-run hotels, paradors, churches, and many more.
● As a Spanish teacher, I have 2 years of experience teaching basic Spanish conversation lessons to business people, and 2 years of experience teaching Spanish conversation lessons to children and students.
* I also have 3 years of experience teaching basic Japanese conversation and basic manners to Spanish students.
