Hello! My name is Viktoria and I’m from Hungary, a small but attractive country in Eastern Europe. Our capital city is Budapest. Perhaps you’ve seen the movie „Grand Budapest Hotel?” That hotel is modeled on some actual historical buildings in our capital! By the way, I currently reside in the countryside, in a very scenic hill region.
I learnt English at an early age by watching American TV programs, and have a long experience of teaching English to children and adults alike, both online and in language schools. I find foreign languages fascinating and took a linguistics course at university, so I can provide interesting information on the the origin of „strange” grammatical rules or seemingly illogical idioms. ^_^ Sometimes I also illustrate my lessons with funny drawings, especially when teaching children. I love to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds, exchange interesting information and help people improve their English skills.
I also work as a professional translator and illustrator, mostly translating books and online articles from Hungarian to English and vice versa.
Whenever I’m not teaching I enjoy hiking, watching movies (especially Korean dramas, sci-fi, animated shows and some older Hollywood classics,) reading books and playing with my dog.
I taught English at online schools before and also gave English classes at Cathedra, a Hungarian "brick and mortar" language school for a month in 2016. I also volunteered as an English tutor at several children's camps.
Please check out my lesson offers below – English conversation, free talk, or even Hungarian lessons! The choice up to You!
Hoping to meet you soon. ^_^
