About Me: -
English has always been my favourite subject at school and for this reason I can confidently say that I am a very effective communicator in my speaking and writing abilities. Teaching is something I do effortlessly, because in hindsight, I have always been involved in helping people, whether it be in correcting their English grammar or advising them in challenging life situations. I studied Psychology to understand the human condition on a deeper level and with the intention of helping myself and counselling others. My studies have positively enhanced my understanding of human behaviour and has benefitted my overall interaction with all kinds of people, in many different situations. I believe in maintaining a positive and happy mindset because being optimistic, echoes back to me in the attitude I experience from my students.

Experience: -
I have excellent English, verbal and written, communication skills.

I am multi-skilled and have extensive experience, in a multitude of different fields, having worked in the corporate world.  

I have been teaching English listening, speaking and writing skills, to all ages, as well as all levels, of ESL learners for about 4 years now.

I volunteered at an ESL Centre in Beijing where I tutored students in a classroom as well as assisted with lesson planning and creation.

Most recently, I have been teaching online English classes to all age groups, with a lot of focus being on adult conversational classes.

 

Qualifications: -
I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which has positively influenced my interaction with students in all kinds of situations, due to having a much deeper understanding of the human condition and behaviour. 

I obtained 2 TEFL Certifications, by completing the 120-hour learning requirements at 2 different Training Institutions. 

 

Teaching Style: -
When teaching English, I am more than just a teacher. I become a mentor and advisor as well.

For this reason, I am very focussed on engaging with my students, to ensure that I connect with them efficiently, to be able to guide them appropriately towards reaching their specific goals.

I incorporate different strategies and methods into my classroom, to ensure that my lessons are fun and effective enough for students to improve English as well as learn some practical life skills.

I also aim to ensure that classroom time is extended to outside of the classroom, so that in practicing speaking, reading and writing, improvement is ongoing.

Practicing RESPECT and KINDNESS in the classroom, is my fundamental teaching philosophy because I believe that Kindness is a universal language that everybody understands.

Having a flexible approach to teaching has enabled me to continue improving my own skills as a teacher as well as get to know my student's needs better. This allows me to create lesson plans, specific to needs, that will benefit them. This also creates an environment of mutual trust in which students feel free to express and challenge themselves. My ultimate aim is that all my students continue experiencing a sense of accomplishment in learning English and personal life improvement.
