Ciao a tutti! :)
My name is Sarah and I'm 34 years old. I'm from Genoa, a city in the north of Italy but now I'm living in Guayaquil (Ecuador). I like very much meeting people from all over the world. It's a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and share mine.
About me
I graduated from the Barabino Art school in Italy and the History of art is my passion. If you like art like me, I can create Italian or Spanish-specific lessons about it. In my free time, I love drawing, painting, and reading.
My teaching experience
I have taught Italian and Italian culture for 6 years and Spanish for 1 year. Now I'm cooperating with an Italian Academy in Ecuador. Here I'm helping students to reach the B1 and B2 PLIDA certifications. Before the pandemic, I use to teach both presential classes and online classes. Now I teach only online.
I have experience teaching Italian at every level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
I'm comfortable teaching in group classes. Yet, I prefer one-on-one lessons especially when I'm teaching beginners.
I use to teach adult people but I also like tutoring children.
During 2018 I taught visual art and the history of art to children and teenagers and I organized art workshops for kids in my art studio.
My teaching style
I do my best to offer creative and fun lessons!
I love making every class enjoyable and interactive. I know from personal experience that learning a language is a challenging process. But, it's also a great adventure and I like very much helping my students to enjoy their learning journey. Seeing their progress is my big satisfaction! :)
Let's study together! I'll teach you Italian or Spanish, but not the way a school teacher would. Please, think of me as a friend who will share their knowledge and support you in your active learning. In fact, it's not "me teaching you", but rather "you learning with my help"!
"Sbagliando si impara" (you learn from your mistakes) we say in Italy. Please, don't be shy and don't be afraid to make mistakes. On the contrary, if you really want to learn something it's natural making mistakes! However, don't worry, I'm very patient. I'll help you to fix them and I'll make sure you always feel comfortable during the lessons. I promise :)
My specialty is teaching native Spanish or Italian speakers. I'm also comfortable teaching English speakers. Having a common language will come in handy during the first lessons, but we'll be able to speak only Italian or Spanish very soon! ;)
Lastly, my forte is the variety of original materials and customized lesson plans I have created and will create for you. If you want more details, book a free trial lesson! I can't wait to meet you! :)
