Hello! My name is Luca, I'm a classical musician, graduated in violin at the Conservatorio "G. Verdi" of Milan and in viola at the Conservatorio "G. Cantelli" of Novara. I studied with Patrick Lange and Ulrich Knörzer within the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester, with Claudio Pavolini, with Rainer Moog at the Musikhochschule of Lugano and with Günter Pichler at the Europäische Akademie für Music und Darstellende Kunst of Montepulciano. Fantastic places and amazing teachers!
I did numerous collaborations with various institutions (Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano "G. Verdi", Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Radio della Svizzera Italiana, Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana), performing with many internationally renowned conductors and soloists (Riccardo Chailly, Matthias Goerne, Paul Badura-Skoda, Bruno Canino, Lior Shambadal, Danilo Rossi...and many others).
I participated in numerous international festivals (Lucerne Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, KölnMusik, Edinburgh International Festival...) and many recordings (EMI Classics, Sony Classical, Decca) with Angela Gheorghiu, Nino Machaidze, Richard Bonynge, Oleg Caetani and Salvatore Licitra. All of these experiences have been great!
I performed in many great concert halls (Teatro Alla Scala, Auditorium di Milano, Teatro degli Arcimboldi, Teatro Regio di Parma, Gewandhaus of Leipzig, Tonhalle in Zurich, Felsenreitschule, Konzertsaal KKL) and I also did a lot of collaborations with artists from other musical fields (Muse, Lacuna Coil, Ulver...) recording for Sony BMG, Warner Bros, Sugar / Warner Music, Universal and Century Media / EMI.
I worked at the Musical Middle Schools as instrument teacher and still teach violin and ensemble music at è Musica Nuova. I collaborated with the Jeans Symphony Orchestra, the popular project of Matthieu Mantanus, with whom I performed at the television program "Che Fuori Tempo Che Fa", conducted by Fabio Fazio on Rai 3 (italian tv channel). I was a strings teacher of the project Osj Orchestra at the Auditorium di Milano, as tutor of Kids Orchestra. With the same I have been teaching on the summer school "Giovani Consonanze" at Scheggia e Pascelupo (Perugia), Bled (Slovenja), Desenzano del Garda (Brescia), Shrewsbury, Ellesmere College (UK), Badalona, Conservatori Professional de Mùsica (Spain) and New York City, Queens College (USA). Working with young musicians is wonderful!
In 2011, driven by an interest in the performance practice of the seventeenth century, I devoted myself to the study of baroque viola with Giovanni De Rosa at the Institute of Ancient Music of Milan (Civica Scuola di Musica "Claudio Abbado") and in 2019 I received a degree with honours in baroque violin at the Conservatorio "B. Maderna" of Cesena, studying with Luca Giardini. As regards instead the violin I have always shown a remarkable interest for teaching. In 2014 I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma of Second Level (Pedagogical) and in 2015 a certificate of qualification to teach in public schools, at the Conservatorio "A. Boito" of Parma. After having passed the competition for professorships for exams and qualifications, since 2017 I am the titular teacher of violin and chamber music at the Music High School "P. Bausch" in Busto Arsizio.
I offer music lessons on Cafetalk! Violin, viola, chamber music…take a look to my page! Contact me and you’ll see that studying music is a serious thing…but fun!
