Dear all students who have decided to learn Korean!!!

Hello! My name is 姜成敏 (Kang Sungmin).
My nickname is “Toshi.k”.

You may be thinking, “You’re too old [toshi] to be a Korean language teacher…lol”,

But I have always dreamed of teaching as a full time job!

＝Self Introduction＝

I was interested in Japanese animation from a very young age.
From the age of 30, I began seriously studying the Japanese language.
Later on, I graduated from a Japanese university.
After returning to South Korea, I worked for a Japanese company (a Korean branch) for about 15 years.

This is where I started teaching Korean while interacting with Japanese head office employees.
Meanwhile, I also started teaching Japanese to new employees in the South Korean branch office, and through these experiences of being appreciated by the people I taught, I naturally began to feel that teaching had its own rewarding aspects.

Based on these experiences,
I would like to share the joy and satisfaction of learning a language
with many people!

I have experience studying and working part-time in Japan, and until recently, I also worked for a Japanese-affiliated company, so I believe I have a good understanding of the Japanese language and culture.
By the way, my wife is also Japanese!＾＾

I have a cheerful and optimistic personality, so I hope everyone will be able to enjoy my lessons in a relaxed and fun environment.＾＾

= Features of My Lessons =
The ultimate goal in my lessons is to “learn to speak” regardless of the situation.

With the recent popularity of K-dramas and K-pop, I believe there are many learners who are able to listen to some extent but are unable to speak, and express themselves as they would like to.
Even if you are finally able to speak Korean, have you ever had the experience of not being able to convey your message to a Korean speaker?

In my lessons, I have prepared lessons and materials that can provide solutions to this common issue.
What is the cause of not being able to communicate even if you can speak the language?
Is it your pronunciation? Is it your intonation?
The answer is in my lessons!

1. I have prepared a collection of “expressions that Koreans commonly use in daily life”!
Nowadays, many Korean language materials are rigid and textbook-like in their expressions, lacking in real-life situations.
My lesson materials are designed with “expressions actually used by native speakers” in mind.

2. I have also prepared a series of “expressions mainly used by young Koreans” that do not often appear in dictionaries or textbooks.
These are expressions that learners have the opportunity to use frequently and should know the meanings of.
It will also be a good opportunity to learn Korean in an interesting and fun manner!
(How can I understand young people’s language when I am not young myself? Well, it’s because I’m still a 19 year old in spirit! lol)

3. You are sure to quickly improve your Korean language skills by learning popular K-drama lines, idiomatic expressions, and through relaxed and enjoyable conversation with me.
