Nice to meet you. I’m miho, a piano instructor.
If you’re thinking, “I’d like to try playing the piano,” or “How fun would it be if I could play that song beautifully?”
If you feel this way, why not give it a try?
Playing the piano has depth in it, and you can polish your skills as much as you wish.
Sometimes you may run into a wall, but if you build up your skills one by one, little by little, day by day, you will surely improve.
Let’s enjoy playing the piano together!
《About my lessons》~My lessons will be tailored to meet your individual needs~
The frequency of lessons and the amount of time per lesson will be determined based on the needs of each student.
Of course, we can discuss and decide together.
If there is a song you would especially like to have a lesson on, please let me know when you make a lesson request.
〇 I want to start playing the piano from scratch
→I will guide you through reading music notes and hand forms one by one according to your text book.
〇 I’ve had a gap, but I want to start playing the piano again
→You can start at any age☆
〇 I want to play that song from my favourite movies / TV drama
〇 I want to learn that tune I’ve always wanted to play
→I will teach you how to improve your performance
〇 I accompaniment lessons for a chorus competition
→Of course, I can offer you accompaniment lessons.
〇 I’m going to play in front of an audience, so I want a preparatory lesson
〇 I’d like you to teach me how to play the piano and sing along for my teacher employment exam / nursery teacher exam.
→I can also offer one-time lessons☆
~I try to offer lessons that aim for expressive performances〜
In addition to tracing the notes (Do Re Mi) written on sheet music, I will teach you how to play with depth and expression by keeping an eye on the tone and nuances that lie beyond the music notes. For example, in the case of “music tone,” I will use the information from the score and the background of the music to develop an image of what kind of color and shape we want the tone to sound like, and then we will explore how to actually strike the keys and how to use our bodies to find the right tone for the song.
《About the tutor》
I started playing the piano since I was six years old.
I learned about a musical instrument called the piano when I started going to kindergarten, and I asked my mother to find me a piano school.
However, I was not a piano-only child, as I also played sports at the same time.
I was so absorbed in my sports that I often neglected practicing the piano...
I did not participate in any piano competitions because I did it for fun.
The turning point in my life came when I was a sophomore in junior high school.
I was asked to accompany the school’s chorus competition.
As a member of an athletic club, I wanted to avoid being an accompanist, but my homeroom teacher insisted that there was no one else who could play the piano, so I had no choice but to take the role.
I was nervous about the performance, but I managed to play my part.
As a result, I was awarded the accompaniment prize.
Both my homeroom teacher and the teacher I hadn’t talked to much told me, “You did a great job.”
Of course I was happy that my performance was appreciated and recognized by others,
but I also realized, even as a child, that
“it is possible to do something you think is impossible when you actually try”
“that it is important to have the attitude to try”
and “that if you prepare well, your efforts will take shape in a certain way.”
Needless to say, this event gave me confidence in many ways.
This is the reason why I decided to pursue a career in music.
