Hi! I am Teacher Hargie from the land of the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the Philippines.
 

With over 19 years of experience as a teacher and as a guidance counselor teaching and guiding elementary, secondary, and college students in different schools in the Philippines, I have the abilities, combined with a passion for teaching and work ethic that will contribute to the betterment of the community that would produce a well-rounded individual. 

As a teacher and as a counselor as well, I am committed to serving and helping students, and all the members of the school realize their full potentials and achieve their goals by providing them opportunities that will bring out the best in them through different classroom activities incorporated in the subject matter. I have learned that if students and teachers will be motivated to learn, they will be hungry for learning and become more confident in their abilities.

Teaching, motivating, and counseling are my passion, and will continue to strive to educate young minds and inculcate in them the importance of moral values.

Teaching learners the FUN WAY is the most effective tool in teaching different languages and they will learn best to attain their goals using the following specific techniques;

a.      specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bounded (SMART)

b.      Cooperative learning approach

c.       Step-by-step process in learning English, Filipino, or any languages

d.      Variety of fun-filled activities

Learners must agree with the following these simple and easy to do agreements while learning;

a.      Come on time

b.      Never be absent except for a valid reason which will be communicated to me ahead of time.

c.       Doing best effort at all times

d.      Prepared for class

e.      Follow directions

f.        Pay attention, participate and ask questions

g.      Respect

I am teaching the following subjects;

a.      Filipino (Tagalog)/English Conversational (to be used in business, travel, & leisure) - Beginner to Adult - 5 years old and above

b.      Filipino (Tagalog)/English Grammar - Beginner to Adult - 5 years old and above

c.       Filipino (Tagalog)/English sentence construction - Beginner to Adult - 5 years old and above

d.      Psychology for beginners focusing on:

d.1 Stereotypes, prejudices, and relationship

d.2 Group decision

d.3 Attraction and close relationship

d.4 Social cognition and perception

d.5 Attitudes and persuasion

d.6 The self- in a social context

d.7 Attraction, romance, and love

d.8 Nonverbal communication

e. Teaching Ethics in Business focusing on;

a. Personal Code of Ethics

b. Ethical Code of the Company

c. Social Pressure

d. Moral and social values

e. Customer Satisfaction 

These are my styles, methodologies, and techniques in;

Teaching Filipino or English conversational the fun way;

a.      diagnosing levels of Filipino and English communication

b.      focusing on communication and fluency, not correctness

c.       student choice of topics

d.      tell, don’t show

e.      preparing lists of questions

f.        using the chat box

g.      talking slowly

h.      encourage conversation

i.        to make conversations fun

j.        telling stories, simple jokes, riddles, singing songs, making music together

a.      diagnosing the level of instruction is important for choosing materials

d.      teaching phonemic awareness

e.      using songs and rhymes to build phonemic awareness

f.        reading aloud

a.      diagnosing levels of Filipino language

b.       support Filipino (Tagalog) or English homework

c.        teaching study Skills

d.      teaching organizational skills
