Hello everyone! My name is Nicholas, please call me Nick!
I offer lessons in English grammar and conversational correction,
Art lessons in traditional drawing and painting
and Cooking lessons using restaurant and hotel style recipes.
I would like to share my skills and passion for artwork, cooking and language learning with you!
About me...
I was born on a small island very close to Vancouver in Canada. Afterwards, I lived in many different towns around Canada including one in the far northern territories in the Yukon! The last place I lived was the city of Vancouver before I came to Japan. Now I am living in Tokyo with my wife and family!
I am very passionate about cooking, making artwork and I am always trying to mix the passion for food and art together to create the most unique meals possible.
My experience...
I have many years of experience in creating artwork such as book covers and art pages, company ads, portrait illustrations and personally requested designs. I continue to make new artwork of my own using many different multimedia such as painting, pencil, charcoal and even coffee used like watercolour!
I also have over 15 years of restaurant experience in which I have learned many unique cooking styles in many different types of kitchens from small town wood fire restaurants all the way to 5 star hotel restaurants and banquets.
Finally, I have experience working in English language companies that have a the focus of one on one tutoring. I have helped people from many different personal and business backgrounds become more skilled and confident in their English conversations.
My teaching style...
I offer English lessons that will focus on building up grammar skills and conversational skills taught through roleplaying, grammar drills and quizzes, and open conversations with corrections.
In my art lessons, I offer art styles varying from comic/manga pencil designs, watercolour experimenting and combining styles to create your own unique art pieces.
For cooking lessons, I teach techniques and skills that will guide you to recreate recipes using many different restaurant cooking styles from a variety of countries!
