Hi! I’m Lara (ララ) and I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I lived in Osaka and taught English there for 4 years and I really enjoyed it! I teach English to students of all ages from beginner to advanced levels. I will correct your English and make the lessons fun and positive so you can improve your English and feel comfortable!

Teaching English in Japan:
I lived in Osaka from 2017 to 2020. I taught many different kinds of lessons (natural conversation and free talk, travel, business, TOEIC preparation, and kids) in a classroom and online via Skype.
In University, I studied Business and I worked for a multinational company for 5 years, so I enjoy teaching Business English. I've helped many students write emails or practice for presentations and interviews.
I have the most experience teaching all levels - beginner, intermediate, and advanced students - in conversational classes. We usually talk about daily activities, hobbies, food, traveling, work, the news, and why you want to learn English. If there is any topic you want to study, I’m always happy to help!

My Hobbies and Interests:
I enjoy cooking and eating! I love the food in Japan, especially okonomiyaki, takoyaki, sushi, and sashimi.
I also love travelling. After University, I lived in France and Spain for 6 months and I traveled around Europe. In Japan, I went Hokkaido, Tokyo, Nagano, Gifu, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and many more places! I also enjoy hiking and I climbed to the top of Mount Fuji to see the sunrise. It was a great experience! I would like to learn about you and talk about your hobbies and interests. :)

My Cafetalk Lessons:
- I will always do my best to teach lessons that are interesting and easy to understand!
- For the first time, we will start with an easy introduction and I will ask you why you want to study English
- I will correct your English and type your sentences and new vocabulary/phrases so you can review the lesson in the future
- For beginners, I use a lot of gestures. I will speak slowly and clearly and review new vocabulary and phrases often
- For advanced students, I will focus on idioms, vocabulary, and more natural ways to say certain phrases
- You can always tell me if you want to study a topic (for example, food, movies, the news, traveling, YouTube videos etc.) or English skill (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, or reading). I'm always happy to help you in any way!
