Hi! はじめまして！My name is Huong or フオン. I am from California, USA. I moved to Japan right after graduating from university and have been living in Shizuoka for almost 9 years. I was so inspired and captured by Japan’s language and culture that I just had to experience everything firsthand. I am so happy that I made the big decision to move to Japan! 

 

Likes & Hobbies:

 

As you may already know, I love Japan. The people, language, and culture and everything that encompasses them never fails to amaze me. Just a fun fact, my favorite food is Chicken Flavor Instant Ramen!

 

In addition, I am obsessed with the color blue. I have too many blue things at my place, more than I can count! Basically, I like anything blue!

 

Also, I recently developed a love for houseplants. I have about 20 houseplants now and still have a long list of houseplants that I would like to have in the future. My houseplants are given so much love that they even have their own names! In the photo below, meet Ubii-chan!

 

Teaching Experience:
 

After graduating from university, I enrolled in a course to learn about teaching English as a second language. I obtained a 100 Hour TESL/TESOL Certification from LCC, UCLA.

 

I have been teaching English to children for about 9 years. Teaching children and seeing them grow and improve gives me great happiness and joy. I would love to extend that wonderful experience by teaching English to adults!

 

Lessons:

 

Lessons will be mainly focused on Conversational English. However, feel free to make any requests about what you would like to learn or improve. We can discuss and I would be more than happy to make or adjust lessons so they will be specific to you! I promise I will do my best to help you with your English goals as best as I can!
