◆About me
Hello everyone!:)) I'm Ria, who teaches Japanese on Cafetalk. I was born and raised in Tokyo.
Below are my 5 favorite things or hobbies↓↓
①Shiba Inu! I have a shiba inu dog whose name is Koume.
Its nickname is "Umechan".^^
Every day it brings me joy to look for shiba inu images on social media.
Playing with Umechan and looking at images of other shiba inu dogs is my best stress relief method!
②Overseas travel I love to travel on my own.
(
I'm especially fond of Taiwan and I've been there 13 times^^
Taipei, Taichung, Hualien, Tainan and Kaohsiung are all places I've been to.
On New Year's eve, I watched the Taipei 101 fireworks for the first time!
③Music, karaok
I like the band called Perfume! I also go to live shows and concerts.
I enjoy going to karaoke by myself, too.
④Reading
Since I was little, I've loved reading books. I especially like mystery novels, but I like to read all kinds of books.
I'm currently reading "Ru" by Shuichi Yoshida, which has been made into a TV drama on NHK.
★Favorite writers
→Keigo Higashino,Kanae Minato, Shinichi Hoshi, Kiyoshi Shigematsu, Kaori Ekuni, Agatha Christie, Mitsuyo Okada
⑤Studying Korean
Since 2 years ago I've been going to a Korean language school.
Just like you, I'm also studying a foreign language and can relate with the many struggles and joys of study.
I have many Korean language failure stories, haha!
Currently, I work in Tokyo as a Japanese teacher.
(I have professional Japanese teacher qualifications)
At the school, I have experience teaching people from a variety of levels, from beginner to advanced.
Recently, I've been teaching many upper beginner to intermediate and above learners.
In total my teaching experience is about 7 years :)
Before becoming a Japanese teacher, I worked for a cosmetics company in Tokyo.
I changed jobs and became a Japanese teacher, and it turned out to be so fun and enjoyable that before I knew it, 7 years had passed^^
◆About my lessons
The 3 policies of my lessons are, ① "with a smile on my face!" ② "Cheerful and fun!" and ③ "Lessons in which there is a sense of accomplishment!"
① With a smile on your face!^^
So that nobody feels nervous, I maintain a calm demeanour and make sure to smile.
② Cheerful and fun!
I teach fun, cheerful lessons in a relaxed atmosphere.
③ Lessons in which there is a sense of accomplishment!
I aim to teach lessons in which students can say things like, "I learned something new!" and "I was able to do something I couldn't before". :)
On Cafetalk, I teach with the aim of establishing the importance of speaking power.
In my lessons I give feedback on grammar, vocabulary, natural expression, pronunciation (intonation, accent) and speaking structure.
I use things like presentation slides, YouTube, Internet news and so on.
As a basic rule, I conduct lessons in Japanese.
I correct and explain difficult words in simple Japanese. Of course, if you still can't understand I can use a little English or Korean!^^
Be sure to try my lesson at least once!
I look forward to meeting you all:)
★I can use Zoom!
For those of you wishing to use Zoom instead of Skype, no problem!
If you'd like a lesson by Zoom, please send me a message. :)
Please note that in the case of Zoom lessons, if there are network or some such issues, Cafetalk staff are not able to offer help.
Having said that, I ask for your understanding.
