Hello, I'm nozzy!
I was born in Osaka and raised in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
Having studied abroad in Canada, Australia and the United States during my university years, I have worked mainly in hospitality for foreigners since I started my career. I currently live in Toronto, Canada, after leaving the company and living in the US for a few months.
Even though I had loved English since I began to learn basic English education, my listening and speaking skills did not improved well, so I decided to study abroad during my university years. During language study abroad in Canada and Australia, I felt that I could communicate well in English because I mostly spoke with non-native speakers there....but at University in U.S., I could not join native-English speakers' conversation at all. However, since I was the only Japanese, I didn't speak any Japanese at all, and I expanded my circle of friendships with students from all kinds of countries, not only from Asia, but also from Europe, Latin America, and of course, I made American and African American friends as well. After learning cross-cultural understanding as well as English, I obtained the TESOL certification, an English teaching method in Canada.
Many people who don't speak English have problems understanding English grammar and they can't speak it, or they can't hear native English because it's too fast. This is because the purpose of English education in Japan is basically to pass an exam, not to make use of English in the real world, therefore they haven't practiced speaking in school.
In my lessons, I focus on helping students improve real-life speaking skills that can be used in practice. I have a lot of experience in studying English through trial and error, so I would like to suggest a study method that is suitable for each student. (How to memorize words effectively, tips for speaking and listening, how to practice pronunciation, etc...)
Of course, in addition to speaking, I also provide basic grammar, pronunciation, and English vocabulary, so please do not hesitate to contact me If you have any requests.
Moreover, since multicultural understanding is very important in interacting with foreigners, we will learn about cultures and backgrounds of various countries together.
If you are thinking of traveling, studying abroad, finding a job overseas, or going on a working holiday, and you have a country you would like to visit, please feel free to ask me about it.
