Hello there, 
My name is Amaka or you can call me by my second name Danielle. I am an ESL teacher with 3 years plus experience in teaching and I have a Bsc in Linguistics from Universite D'Abomey Calavi.
 
I have a passion for traveling, reading, experiencing new cultures, learning, and music. I love teaching people, no matter how little or how big the knowledge I am impacting is, it gives me great joy. I also believe that everyone should get the opportunity to education even though it involves just learning a new language.

 
TEACHING BACKGROUND 
Over these years I have taught English to different people from various backgrounds and cultures both in-person and online.
 
While schooling in Cotonou, Benin Republic which is a French-speaking country I also thought English at a bilingual school to individuals who had very little understanding of English, helping them improve their listening and speaking skills. Aside from teaching in a school, I also tutored English privately one on one to busy business individuals.
   
I also lived in Durban, South Africa for a few months. Even though it is an English-speaking country I had the opportunity of meeting and teaching foreigners who wanted to improve their English speaking skills.

Currently, I teach English online and I teach in Japan. Through this method, I have been able to teach lots of people from various backgrounds and countries, these ones I have tutored in improving their English skills most especially their speaking skills.
 
TEACHING STYLE/Lessons
  • I get to know you better, why you want to learn English and what areas of your English you want to improve on.
  • My lesson plans are based on areas you want to improve on.
  • I use visual aids such as videos, audio, and pictures during classes. You even get to speak on each visual aid, do a comprehension, learn new vocabulary and of cause, I correct your mistakes and grammar (These methods help you understand each topic better and make each class very enjoyable and fun).
  • I also use documents, these could contain various topics and exercises that will help improve your vocabulary and grammar. 
  • Conversation classes help you speak on various topics, which could be personal or things happening around the world. You are free to pick a topic of your choice.
  • I also engage you in dialogues and role-plays. 
  •  I am very patient when teaching, so I do not rush you but help you progress at your own speed or level of understanding.
I believe that every classroom has its own unique community, and my role as a teacher would be to assist you in developing your own potential or skills and learning styles that will help you become a good English speaker.
