Hello! My name is Cole. I'm 39 years old. I live in Michigan and have 7 cats and 3 foster cats! I speak conversational Japanese because I studied in college and then lived in Japan for 7.5 years!

I love to laugh and tell stories. I am patient and happy to help. I enjoy walking in nature, playing games online, and watching TV! I also follow the news and keep up with politics. I am in the LGBTQ+ community!
Teaching History
For 2 years I taught junior high and elementary school English as an ALT in Ota, Gunma. Then in 2011 I moved to Tokyo, and for 5.5 years I taught drama-based English in various studios around Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa. My students were ages 0-15 years old. I occasionally taught adult classes for local English clubs and corporate offices.
Teaching Style
Relaxed! I would like to help you get comfortable using English in a non-judgmental environment. I have good pronunciation, and if you need to ask me a question in Japanese, I may be able to respond. Great for beginners. I like choosing a focus topic, reading the news together, or watching a TED Talk or show together that we can discuss.
