Things You May Not Understand About English

Tracy R.

Hello Everyone!

I have a great little article for you today. This is probably for more advanced or upper-intermediate level speakers, but beginners should give it a try too!

What an interesting topic and not only because the points in this article are things that non-native speakers may not understand; they're things that many native speakers definitely don't understand either! I especially like the author's sixth point. Language is always changing and many words that used to mean one thing, now mean something very different. It's amazing how much language changes, even in just a few hundred years.

So take a look at this article. Do you notice any similarities with your language? Is there anything in this list that you've heard a native English speaker complain about? Let me hear your experiences and thoughts!
