traditional palestinian dancing

Aida

Dabke (Arabicدبكة‎) is a modern Levantine Arab folk circle dance of possible Canaanite[1] or Phoenician[2]origin.It is the national dance of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq.[3] It is a form of both circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and joyous occasions. The line forms from right to left. The leader of the dabke heads the line, alternating between facing the audience and the other dancers. In English, its name is also transliterated "dabka","dabki", "dabkeh", "debke", "debkah", "debki", "debka".
