    • Vocabulary hunt: Highlight and define key terms
    • Skimming and scanning: Practice finding specific information like dates, locations, or names.
    • Summarizing in pairs: Briefly retell the main points of the article.
    • Class debate: Discuss contrasting viewpoints presented in the article.

2. Short Stories:

  • Focus: Character development, inferring meaning, identifying themes.
  • Material: Engaging short stories with rich vocabulary and clear plotlines.
  • Activities:
    • Character analysis chart: Fill in a chart describing characters' appearances, actions, and motivations.
    • Prediction game: Guess what might happen next based on clues in the text.
    • Cause and effect: Discuss how certain events lead to other events in the story.
    • Role-playing: Act out scenes from the story to practice dialogue and understand characters better.
    • Creative writing: Write a continuation or alternative ending for the story.

3. Informative Texts:

  • Focus: Technical vocabulary, understanding procedures, identifying main ideas.
  • Material: Age-appropriate informational texts on various topics (science, technology, history, etc.).
  • Activities:
    • Matching vocabulary: Match technical terms with definitions or pictures.
    • Graphic organizers: Use diagrams or charts to visualize processes or information flow.
    • Cloze procedure: Fill in the blanks with missing words based on context clues.
    • Questioning: Formulate questions based on the text to check comprehension.
