  2. Discussion on Academic Essays: Discuss the purpose and expectations of academic essays, emphasizing clarity, coherence, and critical thinking.

Understanding Academic Essay Structure (10 minutes): 3. Introduction, Body, and Conclusion: Review the standard structure of an academic essay and discuss the specific expectations for each section.

  1. Thesis Statement and Argument Development: Emphasize the importance of a clear thesis statement and guide the student in refining and strengthening their argument.

Analyzing Sample Academic Essays (15 minutes): 5. Sample Essay Analysis: Examine excerpts from well-crafted academic essays. Discuss how authors support their arguments, cite sources, and maintain a formal tone.

  1. Academic Conventions: Highlight conventions such as proper citation, avoiding plagiarism, and using academic language appropriately.

Advanced Vocabulary and Language Use (10 minutes): 7. Academic Vocabulary: Introduce and discuss advanced academic vocabulary relevant to the student's field of study.

  1. Formal Language Usage: Provide guidance on maintaining a formal and objective tone in academic writing.
