What are collocations?
Collocations are groups of words which often go together.For example:
Take a photo (instead of make a photo)
Go bowling (instead of play bowling)
Highly unusual (instead of greatly or strongly unusual)
There are MANY MANY MANY Collocations.
Think of words that go together with
Make (your bed, up your mind), Do (homework, a favor), Have (fun, lunch),
Of (Afraid of, Proud of).
Now try these on your own: For, To, With, About, Give, Keep, Pay, Go
There are MANY collocations. Using collocations correctly will make your English sound more natural, and more like a native English speaker.
These are just a VERY FEW examples.
