This is a 2-in-1 lesson. The first part of the class covers a written summary of the article (submitted before class). The second part of the class goes through some questions related to the news article to test understanding.

This class combines 2 lessons in 1 - Writing a summary of a new article I will give you before the class, followed by a discussion of that article.
The first part of the class is 20-minutes long and covers a written summary of the article. You will be encouraged to read the entire article before class and summarize it in your own words in a short paragraph of between 100 to 250 words. The objective is to get you to practice writing summaries in your own words and for us to then go through this for grammar, vocabulary and word choice and structure.
The second part of the class will be 25 minutes long. We will go through some comprehension questions related to the news article to test understanding. We will also cover words and phrases in the article that you do not understand. If you're an advanced student, some news articles, not all, may seek your opinion on them.
