The SAT is an important step in applying for American universities, but it can be a bit scary at first. Even with a study guide, having an experienced tutor can vastly improve your chances of success.
What Skills Do You Need for the SAT?
The SAT Reading Test not only tests your comprehension skills, but your ability to analyze a text to find things like, main idea, point of view, author's intent, and to understand how to edit a text to improve it. You'll also need to improve your vocabulary skills, as well as brush up on conventions for standard English.
In This Class We Will:

In This Class We Will:
- Use the College Board SAT Study Guide to read passages, answer questions, and then discuss the answers.
- Have regular vocabulary quizzes and activities.
- Learn how to edit sentences for grammar and punctuation.
- Practice writing essays, focusing on organization and strengthening your arguments.
The SAT isn't so bad once you hone the skills that they're looking for. It's not too long ago that I myself took the SAT, so I'm happy to pass down my skills to others who need it. I look forward to helping you!
