Hello and thank you for checking my profile!
My name is Aria and I am an artist specialised in high-end art jewellery design, sculptures and Japanese urushi lacquer.

My artwork has been showcased in art galleries, fashion shows, art shows and international magazines including Vogue and Vogue Gioiello (and all CondeNast Publications), Crafts Magazine, The Goldsmith, Pandora catwalks, London Fashion Week, London Jewellery Week, and many more.

In the little free time I have, I enjoy spending time with my family (I have a dog and a cat), learn Sumi-e, travel, read and take care of my bonsai trees and garden. I love studying and learning new things for self-improvement.

I have extensive experience in teaching English and art classes in Europe, North America and Asia. For the past three years, I have been teaching at Gaba Corporation as English instructor (business English on site, corporate off-site classes, conversational English and kids lessons).

 
I was born in Italy and I grew up between Toscana, Paris and the United Kingdom.

I took my first steps as an artist in Firenze and Pisa, the most glorious centers of Renaissance culture, before continuing my art training in Paris and then London.
 
I initially came to Japan because I admired the rich history and culture,  and I have been focusing on wabi-sabi and zen philosophy since my Master of Arts.

I now live in Kyoto after spending the past three years refining my skills in the use of Japanese lacquer (漆塗) on precious metals and teaching English.
I am currently attending the Modern and Contemporary Art and Design Specialization course at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art, New York) in preparation for my PhD in Fine Arts and Design.

I specialise in DAILY ENGLISH CONVERSATION  and READING lessons as well as BUSINESS ENGLISH coaching.
Thanks to my background, I am able to support the learning process of beginners and more advanced students.

I have been teaching English and Italian to children, university students and employees of some of the top 10 largest Japanese companies, hospitals and universities for the past three years (1-to-1 lessons and corporate off-site classes). I have experience teaching doctors, engineers, Japanese English teachers, lawyers, psychologists, architects, pharmaceutical sales reps, cosmetics sales reps, artists and designers.
 
I also have experience helping students pass the EIKEN, TOEIC, IELTS and TOEFL tests.

 
Together, we will work on conversational and real-world tasks specifically tailored to YOU and your needs, so that you can immediately put your English to work.

As a bilingual teacher, I have a deep understanding towards all the challenges and nuances that come with learning a new language. My fluency in English has played a pivotal role in the progress I have made in my personal life and career (both scholastic and professional), encouraging me to engage in personal growth whilst connecting with people from different cultures.
I decided to work as a teacher in Japan because I strongly believe that proficiency in other languages, English in particular, will empower new generations of this country, enabling them to broaden their future opportunities.
 
I am currently in the process of setting up my new atelier here in Japan, so watch out this space for more news as I will soon start offering customised art and jewellery lessons.
