Hi, my name is Therese. Nice to meet you! I am from Sydney in Australia where I was born and also live now.
My background is Japanese on my mother's side and Irish on my father's side.
I enjoy traveling and have spent time in many countries including 8 months in Canada, 6 months in the UK, and been to many other places like the US, Malaysia and Peru. One of my strengths would be discussing culture and societies.
I am very interested in traveling, culture, history, politics, and many topics and enjoy teaching students how to express themselves.
I have a variety of fun, interesting lessons to help you grow your knowledge of English and communication skills!
I have experience living and working in Yokohama where I was teaching English, and Kyoto where I worked for a short time in travel.
I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in History, and also am currently studying History for my Masters degree.
My past students have had a variety of goals from IELTS preparation to professional advancement, to learning for travel. I have also taught small groups of children, worked as an ALT primary school students, and also worked at a high school.
In Sydney, I have worked as a children's tutor since immediately after I finished school, and have continued to work in tuition and education for many years.
I have about 7 years of experience in total working as a tutor.
