Hello! My name is Ciaran and I'm a native English speaker from Northern Ireland.
I started teaching English in 2014 when I moved to Tottori in Japan. I enjoyed my teaching experience so I came back to Northern Ireland in 2019 and completed a master's degree in TESOL - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
I also studied Japanese when I lived in Japan, so I can have basic conversations in Japanese. I understand why it can be difficult to learn a language so I'm looking forward to helping you learn English.
I also love travelling and learning about other countries and cultures. I spent two summers working at a summer camp in the United States, I lived in Australia for one year on a working holiday, and I lived in Japan for three years.
I especially love to travel by bicycle! I have spent almost two years of my life travelling in this way. I cycled around nine countries in Europe, from north to south in Japan, and through nine countries from Canada to Panama!

I hiked many mountains and saw so much nature and wildlife. The picture below is a volcano in Guatemala.

I saw this bear on the road at Shiretoko Pass in Hokkaido!

And this is when I wanted to cross a river in Costa Rica.

I had many adventures, but my favourite part of travelling in this way is that I was able to meet so many interesting people from around the world.
I hope to hear stories about your travels or where you would like to travel in the future.
