I was chosen as the 3rd best academic tutoring tutor in the Cafetalk ranking!!
Hello!
I am Parish Sensei and I live in the UK.
I’m new to Cafetalk, but I’ve been working in the UK for 12 years, teaching Japanese language and arithmetic/mathematics to children in Japanese.
Because of the lockdown, I have been teaching online for one year, so I am eager to put my skills into practice at Cafetalk.
We are a family of four, with my daughter in junior high school, my son in elementary school and my British husband (plus Yuki chan, the hamster that joined us this year).
It might be possible to schedule the lesson outside the available hours, so please don’t hesitate to contact me about your preferred date and time!
★★All elementary school and junior high school students!★★
To all of you living outside Japan and have been away from the Japanese language! Let’s enjoy learning Japanese language and arithmetic/mathematics together.
To those of you living in Japan! If you have any questions about your homework, or things you didn’t understand at school, also if you want to know more about life in the UK, or if you have any problems at school that you want to talk about, etc., I would be more than happy to help you and work them out together!
I'm also looking forward to talking about all kinds of stuff in the spare time between classes!
★★For families★★
I emphasize on listening to your child's voice in class.
I am a graduate of an engineering school (National University), so I am good at arithmetic and math, but I am willing to work with any subject, so please do not hesitate to contact me.
I have experience in correcting essays for competitions (I have also won prizes). Please feel free to contact me.
The first lesson can be done via Skype, but please note that starting with the second session, the lessons will be held on zoom. In Zoom lessons, I will provide many materials by doing screen sharing, which will improve the quality. (Students only need to install Zoom in order to use it. There is no need to create an account).
Since Corona, it seems as if the children's range of activities has narrowed. There are no more club activities and the opportunities of going out have decreased. I think this is directly related to their interest in something (I noticed this from my own children and the children I teach).
I believe that children absorb, develop interests, and build their own world through encounters with various people, and I would be happy to help them do so.
We are currently living in a national park of the UK, where we can observe moths (my children can touch them, saying that they are beautiful. I've also changed my way of thinking because of that) and enjoy the seasonal flowers of England. Maybe a herd of sheep (because they are moved from farm to farm) will pass by during class (haha).
We don't have to change our mindset or where we live, I just hope that the time we spend together will become a time where we can inspire each other and realize that "It's okay to do this. There are people who think this way”.
Lastly,
I have been working with children from various backgrounds (including children who have just arrived from Japan) for 12 years, and I would do everything that’s in my power to understand the situation of each child so that families can feel at ease. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
