Hello everyone. ♪ I'm originally from Xi'an, China, and have been living in Japan for 28 years. In 1992 I did study abroad in Japan, attended a Japanese language school, vocational school, university and worked as a translator for an equipment company related to a series of N vehicles everyone is familiar with. Since graduation my total number of years involved in translation has come to over 15.
My children were born in Japan but since they were very little I made a Chinese environment for them. Both of them attended Japanese elementary and high schools.Their Chinese study was only 1 hour every Sunday. It was supposed to be Chinese that was spoken at home, but my children, with very little vocabulary, didn't try to speak it. So I changed it so that the language of family communication was basically Japanese, with me intentionally adding Chinese intermittently. When I communicate using LINE or some other SNS, I try to do it using Chinese. The sentences are short and therefore easy to assimilate. Using this system continuously led to my daughter passing the Chuken level 4 in her 2nd year of junior high school. Now, as university students they are both studying Chinese and aiming for Chuken level 3 and HSK level 5. They've become very confident. The power if perseverance! It was from this experience that I gained confidence in teaching Chinese. Mimicking words. The baby learns its first sounds from the mother's repeating of them 2000 times herself.
Before coming to Japan I was a bank clerk. After working as a clerk in the afternoons, I would study my major of Chinese secretary work at Shaanxi Normal University in the evenings. Drawing upon my experience as a bank clerk, doing translation work and then interpretation work, and my own Japanese study, I once again aim to be a Chinese teacher. I look forward to meeting you all.
