Self-Introduction
Hello everyone, I am tutor “葉 (Yōu)!”
I am from New Taipei City, Taiwan, but I currently live in Osaka.
When I was attending university, there were many international students learning in our university, and I had many opportunities to interact with people from other countries. Among them, I found it very enjoyable to interact with international students, and I wanted to introduce the delicious cuisines and beverages from Taiwan, as well as fun place to visit to people from abroad. I thought that by doing so, people around the world would come to like Taiwan more, and be able to understand it better. Therefore, during my college years, I studied Mandarin literature and considered becoming a Mandarin language tutor in the future so that I could interact with even more people from abroad.
When I have the spare time, I enjoy going to karaoke, cooking, watching TV dramas and anime. During long vacations, I sometimes plan trips to go on. This is why I often ask students to share what they did over the weekend during my lessons. I also encourage students to talk about recent events in Mandarin. I am glad that many of my students have started to explain things to me in Mandarin!

Teaching Philosophy and Style
I believe that the most important thing in learning a language is to be able to understand it and actually speak it. This is why, in my lessons, I provide many opportunities for students to actually “speak” the language. In addition, simply remembering the contents from your textbook will not help you actually use the language in real life, so I prefer to help students learn from real life situations and help them acquire the Mandarin skills they actually need! So, if you want to “speak Mandarin fluently,” please join my lessons!
