Crazy And Funny Facts You Should Know

Lyston G.

Dear, Readers.

How have you all been doing?

It is good to be back after a short break. I hope you have been enjoying reading past installments.

The weather has been cooperative in southern Thailand and the beaches are wide open.

However, tourism is at a standstill at the moment because of the ongoing pandemic.

Today, I am going to talk about the smallest country in the world.

Do you know the name of the country?

It is Vatican City.

Readers, did you know that;

Based on landmass, Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, measuring just 0.2 square miles, almost 120 times smaller than the island of Manhattan.

Situated on the western bank of the Tiber River, Vatican City's 2-mile border is landlocked by Italy.

The Vatican is the smallest independent state in the world and the residence of the spiritual leadership of the Roman Catholic Church.

Its territory is surrounded by the Italian capital city, Rome, and priests and nuns of many nationalities make up almost all of the population.

As of 2021, it has a population of 801 people, according to the latest estimates from the UN's World Population Prospectus. This ranks it 235th in the world.

It is a very small country, but with a lot of significance. I have not yet been to the Vatican. I will try to visit in the future.

Have you been to Vatican City? You can share your experience in the comments section below.

I hope you will have fun reading about the tiniest country in the world.

I am looking forward to seeing you with more fun facts.
