What's your main hobby?

Weekly Topic: What is your main hobby?

Mar 28, 2023

Dear Students, who have known me for a while and come to my class regularly, you already know how many things I like to do (almost at the same time, too!). It's really hard to pick just one hobby out of the many interests and pastime activities.

I would like to list 3 hobbies I like
* Reading - I pick this one first because other than helping my personality, empathy, vocabulary, etc., it is also good to be familiar with different cultures and perspectives. Actually, I feel even anxious if I don't carry a book with me. It feels like I would get easily bored if I don't read, so what else would I do on commute, long rides, or the idle hours of Sunday? When I meet my friends, I often say: I don't mind you being late. I have a book on me, I can entertain myself.

=== NOW DURING BOOK CAMPAIGN, I HAVE SPECIAL BOOK COURSES / READING COURSES AVAILABLE! CHECK THEM OUT TODAY!!! ===

* Handicraft: this one has a nice meaning for me. My grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet when I was a child. You can see, I speak a lot of languages. It is because I used to live in different countries. Interestingly, all the countries, I've ever lived, also cultivate knitting and crocheting. In Norway, for example, people are knitting on business meetings. It helps listening and focusing on concentration! Did you know that? In Ecuador, the indigenous people have a very simple, yet amazing pattern that they use in their handicraft items. If you're interested in knitting, come and join me on my Knitting for beginners class! :-) Don't be discouraged, we can also learn crochet-ing and meanwhile chat in English! :-) 2 in 1! :-)

This is one of my first knitted (in Hungarian "lábtyű") , ankle protector, I knitted. I love how knitting improves your math skills, as well, because you need to plan the pattern well. I was working on this pattern for 2 days straight to make it look like the map of Norway. :-)

However, this is not the only handicraft I do. I love painting, origami (only easy ones!), and recently, I got into candle and soap making, as well.

*Cooking: who wouldn't like the Thai cuisine? Now, I'm also offering cooking courses here and we can prepare an easy Thai dish together! :-) Would you like to try this? Or, if you just like to chat about different types of food, come and join my class, too! :-) We can discuss how much Thais love Japanese foods, too!

=== THAI COOKING CLASS IS ON MY PROFILE, TOO! I HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON! ===
