So often fashion has been used to express resistance and rebellion. But have you heard of i'kothane?

I'kothane is a ritualistic battle among the South African urban youth crews. Crews get together, light a fire, and burn. They burn money and designer clothes. Imagine the smell! The crew that burns the most wins.

These photographs were taken during summer of 2014 in Tehran. The fabrics and the cuts were designed and executed by a designer duo working underground in Tehran.
