Thanks for the Recommendation

T Mun Yee

In coaching sessions, we often ask ourselves what we're grateful for or what we'd like to acknowledge ourselves for. I confess to always struggling with this. What, indeed. And it takes some mindfulness and soul-searching to come up with something.

But, this week Cafetalk gave me something to celebrate when it notified me of my new 'Recommended' ribbon. Hooray, thank you so much, it certainly put a hop in my step.

I'm grateful for my students for their gracious and motivating feedback. It means a lot to be given an opportunity to prove myself and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will always do better and my best for you.

I'm grateful for the magnificent setup that is Cafetalk. The administrative (including payments, due diligence and compliance), marketing and continuing support infrastructure contribute to the seamless performance of the platform in its relevance to tutors and students. I'm extremely grateful for the thriving Cafetalk community.

I'm also grateful for the opportunity Cafetalk gave me to sign up for Japanese lessons (shout out to Sensei Kyoko.I-san and Sensei Mugi-san .. arigato gozaimasu). Long way to go before I can declare myself proficient but a few new words a day keeps the blues at bay!

I'm going to continue and have fun on Cafetalk for as long as possible, both as tutor and student. I look forward to meeting you online. Thanking all of you and have a great week ahead.

Postscript added on 8 Oct 2023: Note: Thank you to those who have written to let me know you enjoy reading my column but daren't take a lesson because there are parts you don't really understand. I assure you we'll always speak at a level which suits you so that we can enjoy a casual conversation. Also, we can go through words and sentences that are difficult so that we learn together. Perhaps, they will be easy then and we'll always have something to talk about. No stress!
