Summer Vacation!

Weekly Topic: Summer vacation plans

Aug 2, 2023

This summer vacation is the first real summer vacation for me - it started early, already in May.
I quit my job in Thailand and moved back to Ecuador to enjoy the lush mountains and hiking them every day. It's easy to get used to it, and look at their beauty, even if one has to deal with some moving administration, because this is the view you can look at: (see head picture).

Summer is not only my recreation time. It is also my time to hone my skills.
I started to do some online courses:
- I learn Japanese on Cafétalk and on an application too - fuelled by my experience in Japan. I love the culture, I love Murakami and me - being a language teacher - I'm always up to learn a new language! :-)
- I started painting. Of course, I was feeling bad at it, especially because I have no idea on how to draw buildings and how to make deep perspectives, so I signed up for an in-person course. I'm not saying I'm the best of it, but I'm trying. Here is a sketch I drew the other day. (I still need to give it some colour...)

- I also started to get back to my hobby and started to make soap again! It was my favourite hobby in Thailand, but I managed to do it again in Ecuador. Of course, I'm waiting for the results yet as the weather is different here. (Humidity and elevation.)

And what about you? What are your summer plans? If you plan to learn something new, now is the time!

If you also would like to learn a new skill, check out my crazy summer sales! (3O% off for new and 5O% off for existing students!!!) (I also attach one of my handicraft classes to this post, but, have a look around my lessons. I have different topics and skills - and I even have a cooking course slowly starting! I'm sure, you'll find something that could be interesting for you! :-) ).
