Hello, 

My name is Kesha. I have worked as a high school teacher in Japan for about 7 years. I am familiar with the style of classroom learning that is unique to Japan. In most classrooms that I taught in a lot of time was focused on grammar and very little on correct pronunciation. 

In my classes I focus on the style of English education that I am familiar with that helps me students communicate better. I have 3 main focuses in my classes for junior high and high school students: 

1. I focus on reading: 

- By focusing on reading I am able to introduce topics to students while at the same time building their vocabulary. 

2. I focus on pronunciation: 

- In Japan, as a private tutor, I focused on improving my students overall English pronunciation skills. This includes preparing them for speaking competitions and other events.  

3. I focus on communication: 

- My goal is for my students to speak at least 70% of the class time. This can be easily done through simple guidance and patience. This communication will also help with their listening skills. Through my time in Japan, many of my students advised that they have difficulty understanding spoken English. By actively communicating with my students my goal is to improve both their listening and their speaking skills. I want them to feel confident when they communicate with people in English. 



I try to create a gentle and fun classroom where students feel safe to make mistakes as they improve their English. 

I will review your child's English level and decide which text would be best for them. No matter their level, I have text that will be suitable for them.
