Lesson Pack Details

This is a 4-lesson pack. You will be issued 3 “coupons” when the first request is confirmed. You will be able to use these coupons for subsequent requests in the pack. Please note that all requests related to this pack must be taken within 30 days of the first lesson date.

Lessons should generally be booked chronologically, meaning that the second lesson should be booked after the first, and so on.

Are you planning a trip to an English speaking country? Or even moving to one??Are you going on a business trip? Maybe you’re going on study abroad to an American university? Well it can be comforting to practice how to handle regular situations that will come up in day to day life in these countries - in English. In these packs you will be put in a variety of situations where we exercise and therefore improve your ability to handle these situations, when you’re put on the spot. Like when you’re returning an item you purchased to a store in California or when you’re handling car / traffic accident situations. These situations can be chaotic and messy if you haven’t practiced or even heard the right language.
 
This style of practice is amazing for learning new vocabulary or reinforcing what you know, working on paraphrasing, grammar and interpretation of events and descriptions of places and people!

Suitable Students:
The exercise can be done with students from lower intermediate up to advanced levels. All levels can benefit from the exercise, and if your English ability is outstanding the practice will still be good to keep your skills from getting rusty or to practice “speaking on your toes”. 

Introduction of the lesson:
Each pack is 60 minutes (the trial is 25 minutes)- 
(30 minutes) we go over what the student needs to know for the scenario - what is the backstory, the roles, and what vocabulary and phrases will be useful. If the students level is lower intermediate then we will outline the upcoming scenario to do our best to reproduce instead of a more immersive experience. 
(30 minutes) We begin the scenario as practiced. No stress, however, I will step in to assist the student and to guide them to better fluency. We can repeat and go over the scenario as much as necessary and certainly change it based on how well the student is doing.

The scenarios:

Returning clothes in California
  • The student is returning some items, but something goes wrong!
Traffic accident in Texas
  • The student is being questioned about a traffic accident they were involved in! How do you talk with the police and the insurance company? 
Parking lot disagreement  
  • The student has a disagreement about events in a parking lot! Let's get out of the argument.  
There are more: There are more but what we do will depend on the needs of the student - so lets discuss that in the 25 minute Pre-lesson evaluation (trial) that you should book first!
 
The options:
25 minute Pre-Lesson Evaluation (trial) (You need to book this one first!)- We will meet each other and evaluate the students needs, then we will discuss how the lessons will work in general. 
60 minute pack (The single lesson pack)- The student chooses one scenario and we practice that one together. This way the student doesn't have to commit to multiple lessons.
240 minute pack - The student books 4 sessions in bulk and we do each one in order as intended, I recommend once or twice a week.

Cancellation of pack lessons

• 'Unstarted' lesson packs(1) can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack(2) is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.
(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack

• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.
