How well do you know simple present, simple past, simple future, present continuous, past continuous and future continuous?

Description

It's very important to know how and when to use the basic tenses. Even advanced learners still makes mistakes with these tenses so practice is very important. In this lesson, you will respond to real day-to-day questions by making sentences with the correct tense. This is so that you will be confident you can use the tense correctly in daily life.

For beginners and intermediates, we will first make sure you know how to conjugate the tenses. Then we will practice making sentences that use the tenses. Lastly, I will spontaneously ask you questions and you will have to answer using the correct tense.

For more advanced students, the focus will be more on the subtleties of each tense. Each tense has a certain emphasis or feeling, and so it is important to understand what exactly that feeling is so that you can speak as naturally as a native. We will do this by comparing differences between similar sentences. Then we will speak or write a short story of something that happened, is happening, or will happen. This is to practice alternating between different tenses depending on what you want to emphasise.

Each tense has a certain feeling, and it is important to understand exactly what that feeling is if you want to speak like a native. Speaking with correct grammar is the first step, and using grammar to emphasie certain feelings like natives do is the second step.
