Method: Presentation Practice Production:

Student will review introduction vocabulary and its uses. The student will then be encouraged to identify who people are in various scenarios and places using the samples given. Finally, The teacher and student will take part in roll-play, using the vocabulary and sentence structures provided with the freedom to identify themselves in various situations and places.

Target Language:

Answering identification questions, "My name is.." and "My phone number is..."

National origins, different types of identification.

Practicing basic introductions

Simple identification using present tense verbs, symbols, and numbers

Objectives:

Students will confidently ask, answer, and identify using phrases such as: "What is your name?" and "My name is..." and be able to state what nationality they or someone else is.

Students will participate in a fun and engaging role-playing activity.

Materials:

Share-Screen text, slides.

Side by Side Book 1, page 4 (or adapted materials)

Pictures of 3-7 people different scenerios

Props for role-playing (optional: microphones, hats, sunglasses)

Procedure:

Warm-up (5 minutes):

Briefly discuss the concept of how people identify themselves to each other or in different places.

Practice "What is your name?" and "My name is..." “What country are you from” with each picture, encouraging repetition.

Phone & Address Review (5 minutes):

Briefly show 2-3 phone numbers and addresses from page 3 (adapted to difficulty level). Also ask about email addresses.

Focus on understanding the general format (e.g., country code, city) without going into detail.

Identification Prep (5 minutes):

Using text, provide a list of 3-5 simple statements related to the person's identification (e.g., "Where are you from?"). (see page 4)

Talk about the difference in manner of speech towards co-workers, receptionists, superiors etc.

Interview Time! (10 minutes):

Teacher and student take turns asking the other to identify themselves. (see pg. 4).

Will Use role-playing props if time available to add fun and engagement.
