A Guided reading practice - Chapter 1

Guided reading is an effective instructional reading strategy and approach that helps the learner to develop reading and speaking proficiency. Through this lesson, I provide the learners with a conducive learning atmosphere and experience as a result of which learners gain the confidence to move forward reading more complex text. For this lesson, I have selected the text called- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stones, mainly for two reasons:
i. This text has a rich vocabulary and storyline.
ii. Rich content that provides the scope of the following mentioned benefits.
Benefits of Guided reading:
- Helps in building conversational skills.
- Improves grammar knowledge.
- Expands the vocabulary.
- Helps the learner to acquire expressive vocabularies as learners learn to infer the reading text.
- Scaffolding during a reading session.
- Appreciating and acknowledging the reading text.
This lesson is supplemented by a high-quality premium Harry Potter novel which is scanned and stored as a soft copy in order to provide authentic and enriching reading experiences.
This lesson is a unique bundle of learning with fun. Rest assured to have an interesting, fun-filled, and engaging learning experience.
