Random conversation is definitely a good practice.  This will prepare you to a variety of topics, depending on what is shown to you.

Lesson Format:

3 pictures will be shown 1 at a time.

Talk about the pictures in detail.  

Describe what you see.

Make own sentences using with word / expressions learned, related to the pictures.

Pronunciation and grammar will be checked.
