How California's unique history and geography led to a the most tolerant, progressive, and innovative society in human history.
Description
California is a unique land with an even more unique history. Originally it was part of the Spanish empire which left its influences on the Christian missions to the Indians. California became a country for a short period of time in 1846. It was however the discovery of gold and the arrival of the 49ers that started the California that we know and love today. The immigrants came not only from the east of America but also from the South America and China. These cultures struggled with each other but came together to create a unique culture. In the warmly California climate something magical happened.
