Aloha! I'm Shane from the island of Maui, Hawaii, USA. I'm currently living in Bangkok for over two years now. I've been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for about 10 years now. Mainly I taught for 8 years in Japan. My primary focus is adult business and conversational English classes. I teach from secondary school to adults. I like to teach from a high-context/low-context anthropological approach. I'm TEFL certified for teaching english as a second language.
 
 
 
Education: 
I have a Bachelor's of Art (BA) in Anthropology from California State University, Sacramento. My concentration was on East Asia( Japan, Taiwan & Philippines), Primatology and Native American studies. I also have a Certificate of Completion in Hospitality from University of Hawaiʻi, Maui.
 
Teaching credentials:
I'm a certified TEFL teacher and have taught English for over 10 years. Mainly I've taught Business English but I've also taught at secondary schools and language centers. 
 
Language Experience: 
My first language is English. I also speak español and 日本語. 
 
Hobbies and Interests:
In my free time, I love to do island photography. My focus is on the ocean, marine life and local people life. I also like to surf, cook, and travel.
