Nice to meet you! My name is Andy. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Bradley University. I've been teaching English professionally for about 7 years. My Experience:
I taught English in Izu City in Shizuoka prefecture. I taught classes at City Hall, Elementary Schools, and Junior High Schools in the area. I have experience teaching children as young as 5 and adults as old as 75. I helped government workers and businesspeople study English for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics!
I also taught private lessons in my free time face-to-face and through Skype. I love teaching!
About Me:
I loved living in Japan! I had a part-time job cooking meals at a pension and interpreting for guests. Cooking is my favorite hobby. (Especially Japanese food!) I also enjoy traveling, speaking Japanese, karaoke, video games, and watching anime. Please talk to me about any of these subjects if you like!
My Lessons:
My teaching style is relaxed, exciting, and fun! I believe if you aren't enjoying learning English, you will not want to continue studying. I like to challenge you and give you the confidence to grow in your skill. Some important points of my lessons to know:
- I teach real-life English used in daily situations
- I am not super strict on pronunciation, but I do want to help you become a more natural and skilled English speaker. Pronunciation is very important, but not the most important
- I like showing you new words and using roleplaying to help you get ready for situations you will experience abroad
- It's OK to make mistakes! Making mistakes is how you learn. With time, I can help you fix these mistakes.
Let's Get Started Now!
I hope for the chance to help you study English! Thank you very much for checking my profile.
Good luck to you!
Andy D.
