Hello, everyone! 안녕하세요! 大家好:)
My name is Mayuko, and I’ve started offering Chinese (Taiwanese) and Korean lessons on Cafetalk.
What kind of teacher am I? 5 years studying abroad in Taiwan + working in South Korea + starting a business in South Korea
After graduating from high school, I studied abroad for five years at a university in Taiwan. At first, I could hardly speak Chinese and had a very hard time, but now it has all become a good memory and I am able to use this experinece for work.
After graduating from university, I decided to try to find a job in Seoul, South Korea, by using my “Chinese language” I had learned while studying abroad, and my “Korean language” that I had continued to study throughout high school and university. In Seoul, I worked at an organization under the Seoul City Hall as an international cooperation and exchange officer. I was in charge of international cooperation and exchange, using Chinese, Korean and Japanese to plan various forms of international exchange.
Currently, I am married to a Korean husband and living in South Korea, while moving back and forth between Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, working on international exchange projects, content planning, Japanese/Chinese/Korean translation, and support for study abroad and overseas employment. (Currently online because of Covid-19.)
I use my position as a "language learner" and "someone who has went through the same experience" to my advantage!
I am a “language learner” myself, who has continued to learn Chinese and Korean. Therefore, I always try to prepare my lesson curriculum from the students’ point of view. (For some of my lessons, I use special PPT textbooks and worksheets.) I am especially interested in helping those who are learning two or more languages simultaneously.
Not only do I have experience with language, but also having experienced various positions such as an international student, company employee, and an entrepreneur, I can support you with “real-life” language lessons and corrections.
Cafetalk provides language lessons and motivational support for students who are preparing to study abroad in South Korea or Taiwan, or who want to work using Chinese or Korean. I also correct and translate documents such as resumes (CVs) and self-introduction letters.
If you would like to study Korean or Chinese with me, even for just a little, or if you need help with studying abroad or finding a job, please check out my lesson list. I am looking forward to your lesson requests.
