"Parasite" Makes History

On February 9, 2020 (US local time), Parasite became the first foreign language (non-English) film to win the Academy Award (aka "Oscar") for Best Picture. Parasite was also the first South Korean film to win an Oscar in any category. In total, it took home four awards, which included Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film (previously known as "Best Foreign Language Film") in addition to Best Picture.

Like last year's Best Picture winner, The Green BookParasite is a must-see film. It explores class divisions, which is a global social problem not only limited to South Korea. As the wealth gap has been increasing dramatically over the past few decades, films like Parasite allow viewers to reflect on such societal problems.

That's about as far as one can go without spoilers. If you haven't had a chance to see this film yet, please go and watch it.
