Mottainai/mottainai... Translation : What a waste!

When we have sushi, my partner pours A LOT of soysauce no matter what I say.
"Honey, this is too much, mottainai!"
He understands what I mean, but he doesn't stop, and at the end of meal he remains the sauce...
what a waste!!

Quand on mange du sushi, mon partenaire met BEAUCOUP de sauce soja, quoi que je dise.
"Mon chéri, c'est trop, mottainai!"
Il comprend ce que je dis, mais il n'arrête pas, et du coup à la fin de repas, il laisse de la sauce...
Quel gâchis!!

私たちはお寿司を食べていると、私のパートナーはお醤油を沢山使います、私が何を言っても...
「ねえ、入れすぎ!もったいない!」
彼は私が言っている意味は分かっているのですが、それでも醤油を注ぐことを辞めません。
そして食事の終わりには、お醤油が残っているのです...
もったいない!!
