Getting Lost in a Book

Weekly Topic: My favorite hiding place for when I want to be alone

Celia

Where is my favourite hiding place for when I want to be alone? In a book, of course! Actually, I don't have much time to read at the moment because I have a baby to look after, but if I get the chance, I like to read.
This is the book I'm reading at the moment. It's called All Over Creation, and it's by an author called Ruth Ozeki. She's a Japanese-American author who I think is wonderful. Her insights into Japanese culture really hit the nail on the head, although this book is based much more in America... or at least, the part I've been reading is set in America. Have you heard of Ruth Ozeki? She's not prolific, having only written a handful of novels, but this is a case of quality over quantity. There might not be many books authored by her, but each one is a work of art. When I want to be transported to another world, I can count on Ruth Ozeki.
Do you use books as places to hide when you want to be alone? Let me know which books are your favourite! If you want to talk about books, how about booking my Book Club class? Thanks!
