Three Autumn Memories from Three Novembers in Japan

Weekly Topic: Tell us 3 good aspects about your favorite season.

Nov 15, 2022 | 2 Comments

I started living in Japan in October of 2019, so I have experienced 3 full November months. I haven't traveled much since I lived in Japan, but I will share 3 years of Autumn memories that were from November each time. I seemed to somehow make it outside of Tokyo in November every year so far!

① November 2019: My favorite memory from Autumn of 2019 was my trip to Nasu. I went with my friend that was visiting Japan from Seattle.

I enjoyed natural hot springs in Japan for the first time (my first time ever enjoying a natural hot spring was in a forest in New Mexico in the United States).

② November 2020: My favorite memory from Autumn in 2020 was going to Mount Takao. I went with my friend from Tokyo.

I don't normally like hiking that much, but Mt. Takao is great. I love the shrine and delicious foods. I don't want to say how much miso dango and matcha ice cream I eat when I go to Mount Takao!

③ November 2021: My favorite memory from Autumn in 2021 was going to Ibaraki prefecture. I went with my boyfriend and his family.

We picked apples together and then went to see a beautiful waterfall surrounded by trees with colorful Autumn leaves. I ate miso dango and matcha ice cream on this trip too!

All of these memories had beautiful Autumn scenery, delicious food, and lots of tea. What made it most memorable though, was experiencing Japan with people I care about.
