私は数年前まで浅草に住んでいました。
今日は浅草の祭りについて書いてみます。
浅草の春の祭りといえば三社祭が有名ですよね。東京近辺に住んでいる人なら、行ったことがあるという方も多いと思います。いつも浅草は賑やかなのですが、お祭りの時はさらに熱気で溢れ、江戸時代にタイムスリップしたような気分になります。今年は5月17〜19日のようです。足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか？
もう一つ、私が楽しみにしていたお祭りがあります。
「江戸吉原おいらん道中」を知っていますか？
浅草酉の市が行われる鷲神社の近くで、美しく着飾った位の高い遊女たち(おいらん)が練り歩くパレードです。花魁（おいらん）たちは、高い下駄を履いて、つま先を内側に向けたあと、大きく外側に開く「外八文字」という独特の歩き方をします。
下駄の高さはとても高く、現代でいうハイヒールのようです。
また、私はクラシックバレエを習っていたのですが、おいらんの独特な足遣いには、バレエのレッスンを思わせるものがありました。
東洋も西洋も、時代も関係なく、美しいと思わせるものには何か共通点があるのかな？と思ってみていました。
残念ながら、今年は開催しないとのこと、HPに掲載されていました。来年は見られるといいな。

I used to live in Asakusa a few years ago, so I will write about Asakusa's festival today.
Speaking of Asakusa's spring festivals, Sanja Matsuri is the most famous. If you live near Tokyo, I'm sure many of you have been there. Asakusa is always lively, but it gets even more lively during festivals, and makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Edo period. This year, it will be held from May 17th to 19th. Why don’t you go see it?
There is another festival that I was looking forward to. Do you know "Edo Yoshiwara Oiran Dochu＂?
This is a parade of high-ranking courtesan (Oiran).They walk near Otorii Shrine where the Asakusa Tori no Ichi is held. Oiran wears high geta clogs and walks in a unique way called gai-hachimonji. (Look at the picture!)
Geta are very tall, and they seem like high heels in modern times. Also, I was learning classical ballet, and the oiran's unique footwork reminded me of ballet lessons.
Is there something in common between things that are considered beautiful, regardless of whether they are from the East or the West, or era? That's what I was thinking.
Unfortunately, it was posted on the website that it will not be held this year. I hope it will be held next year.
