My Morning Routine

Weekly Topic: Do you have a morning routine?

ChrisTravels

Every day, I get up early to start my day. Most days, I wake up to my mobile phone alarm at 4:00 a.m. I usually get up right away, but sometimes I need a few more minutes of sleep, so I'll turn off the alarm and lie back down for five minutes or so, and then I'll get up.

After a trip to the bathroom, I'll head downstairs and make breakfast. I have a rather untraditional breakfast compared to most Americans. Instead of a sugary cereal or pastries or oatmeal, my breakfast consists of a tortilla filled with chicken strips and a dab of salad dressing, coleslaw with chicken strips and salad dressing, cookies, a soda, a cup or two of water, and dietary supplements.

I always stream a show while I eat my breakfast. I usually watch a YouTube show that covers news and politics, but sometimes I want a break from that, so I'll watch something on Max (the HBO streaming service) or Netflix.

After breakfast, I play a couple mobile games. There's this mobile game called Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. It's very addicting, and I find myself playing it for one or two hours at a time. I also play a tank battle game called War Machines.

Around 6:00 a.m., I start my bath. There is some sort of plumbing situation going on that has yet to be fixed, so it takes just under two hours to fill the bathtub. As I'm waiting, I finish playing my mobile games and then check my other phone apps. I will scroll Facebook and Tik Tok and Instagram for a while until my bath is about ready, and then I take care of all my dental needs and have my bath.

After my bath is when my day really begins. I check my email and work on whatever projects I have going on. I make sure my bills are paid for the day. I update my grocery shopping list. Then I have lunch and think about what I need to get done before I go out for my Uber Eats delivery day. I finish up those last couple of tasks, and then I'm out delivering all day.

And that is my morning routine.

Enjoy your day everyone, and keep learning. The more you practice English, the better you become.
