Sweet Paan Candy (or Paan Pasand Goli) is one of the oldest hard candies in India. It is believed to be first manufactured in the 1940s, on the western coast of British-occupied India.

The main ingredients of this candy were white sugar and Betel Leaf—a local plant of authentic minty flavor. It was a hit with both kids and adults! Traditionally, this heart-shaped-leaf was known for its usage in highly addictive mouth fresheners and chewing tobacco. The makers of the original candy somehow created a PG version of a sweet bite, which has now become a legend.

In early 2024, an Indian corporate giant acquired the parent company of Paan Candy.

Nowadays, the hype of nostalgia has given birth to a hundred different versions. They are all more or less the same. Grab a handful whenever you see these pink devils!
